Hair Restoration Treatment Complications and Problems
June 24, 2008 by Tammy
As technology has consistently improved over the past several years, hair restoration has become more and more common. It has also become much more affordable and is more sought out by patients who previously were willing to simply accept thinning hair and baldness. What a nice change! So while hair restoration continues to get a lot of positive press there also continues to be some hair restoration problems.
One of the most common issues is that people use hair restoration products incorrectly. For example, some battling hair loss decide to use products such as Rogaine when in fact they are battling severe or even long term baldness. It is simply a complete waste of money. Rogaine is not designed to re-grow hair.
Rogaine simply does not work well on people who have battled severe baldness or even those who have been bald for quite a long time. Unfortunately for the majority of the population using Rogaine may spend an awful lot of cash before actually realizing the futility of using this hair restoration product in this situation.
Another common problem with hair restoration is that in many circumstances hair transplants simply do not survive. For some patients who endure hair transplant surgery, the hair that has been transplanted simply does not grow at the transplanted site and not only that, the donor site from which the good hair was removed can actually be more damaged and leave the patient balder than before the surgery.
Many patients also experience scarring from the donor site, which can be particularly difficult if the donor site was on a part of the scalp! Unfortunately there are many people who endure several transplant procedures all in a row, shelling out an enormous amount of cash before they realize that the transplants have not taken and are not growing properly.
Of course not only does this leave the patient frustrated and shorter on cash, but it can also leave them with an even deeper obsession over the baldness than before. So as you can see hair restoration does not come without its challenges. Hair restoration problems must be thoroughly considered before you make any decision to go forward with any hair restoration procedure. While hair restoration certainly has the ability to help you feel and look better, there are simply no guarantees with the outcomes of these procedures.
